A 'Fairy Tale' Love Story

There's just so much to love about this eccentricpre-wedding shoot for fun loving Dubai based coupleArutyun & Kristina (both originally from Uzbekistan). Here atBCME, we love all sorts of weddings and engagement shoots, but have a soft spot for 'out side the box' concepts.

When we stumbled across these awesome images by photographer Diana Kartasheva we immediately got in touch. Featuring a naughty fairy, the most impressiveafro and an array of bright and striking colours set amidst the grounds of the magical Miracle garden in Dubai, this shoot is nothing butamazingly wacky! Below, along with her very own fairytale story, photographer Diana talks us through the shoots concept and working with the soon to be newly weds.

A young man sits lost in his thoughts, while blissfully reading a fairytale in a flower garden, oblivious to the fact a real life fairy was skipping from flower to flower enjoying the beautiful nature surrounding them.

The exquisite little fairy stumbles upon our young man, her curiosity drove her towards him, and that is when she felt a spark of love. Unfortunately, the young man still didn't feel her presence no matter how much she tried to draw his attention. Even her strongest of fairy dust could not shake him out of his dreamy world.

It was only her fairy tears that eventually brought his senses together, as he approached her with a warm smile, and wiped her tears away, and here is where we say … they lived happily ever after!

A Note From The Photographer

Last March, I was approached by Arutyun & Kristina; a soon-to-be-wed Romantic young couple from Uzbekistan, who wanted to surprise their wedding guests with a beautiful love story inspired slideshow. From the first time meeting them, I felt their energy, their enthusiasm, the strong bond that connected them, & an urge to come up with a theme & story line that captures their overwhelming aura. I knew a normal love story shoot would not serve them justice, and was pleased to hear them say they wanted something different, that they wanted to stand out from other love stories & that we were already on the same page.

My first mission was to propose a theme & a story, and I understood that I had to transcend the real world and turn it into something out of a fairy tale; because that was were I felt they really belonged.

A love story should be fun, full of laughter and joy, so I decided to do a 'fairy falls in love with a dreamy young man' storybook:

On the 4th of May, we met at Dubai's unique Miracle Garden, a backdrop perfect for a miracle union between a man and a fairy. Kristina was wearing a lovely fairy outfit along with butterfly wings, while Arutyun was putting on a comical Afro wig along with a set of Harry Potter reading glasses! Once we settled down, we were right into business, capturing images based on the mood board, until all the jigsaw pieces were in place.

It was such a pleasure working with Artuyun & Kristina, thanks to their beautiful hearts; it felt more as an outing with friends than an actual job for a client. They are now a happily married couple, and I was told the slideshow captured the audience as intended.
